Immigration Law

We guide individuals and organizations through the complex regulatory frameworks governing entry, residence, and work authorization in Uganda.

Entry Permits

Entry permits authorize foreign nationals to enter and reside in Uganda for specified purposes. We assist clients to obtain entry permits especially in compliance with application requirements.

Work Permits

We assist our clients to obtain work permits based on the nature of employment or investment including compiling and verification of the required documents i.e. academic certificates, a police clearance certificate, medical examination report, employment contract, and proof of the employing company’s registration and tax compliance.

Alien Registration

Effective June 2026, Uganda requires all foreign nationals lawfully resident in the country—excluding those visiting for fewer than 90 days. To this end, the Firm assists applicants to compile and verify immigration documentation, including work permits, student passes, or dependent passes for enrollment so that they can access government services.

Permanent Residence Registration

Permanent residence provides long-term settlement rights for foreign nationals meeting specific criteria. Uganda offers Certificates of Residence through its immigration framework, with eligibility typically requiring over ten years of lawful residence, good standing, and evidence of tax compliance or marriage to a Ugandan citizen. We assist applicants to compile and verify requisite documents for certificates of five-year, ten-year, and permanent residence, and citizenship by naturalization (which generally requires twenty years of residence).

Immigration law practice demands meticulous attention to documentation requirements, procedural timelines, and evolving regulatory frameworks. We stay current with legislative developments to effectively serve clients navigating the intersection of immigration compliance and their personal or business objectives.
